Board certified physical therapist in the state of Michigan. He received his Bachelors degree in physical therapy in 1993 and went on to receive his Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Certification at Oakland University in 2006. Mr. Fahmy has 15 years experience in a multitude of treatment settings, including hospital, outpatient, sub acute, long term and home care.
Specializing in the treatment of sports related injuries as well as a variety of orthopedic conditions, Michael hopes were to open a one of a kind facility dedicated to Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. His dream turned into reality in August of 2006 when he opened OMPT Specialists. Mr. Fahmy is recognized as a Clinical Instructor for undergraduate residents for both Oakland and Wayne State Universities. Michael has received several awards of recognition for his work with both universities.
John Krauss PT, PhD, OCS, FAAOMPT
Senior Manual Physical Therapist
John is an Associate Professor at Oakland University School of Science/Physical Therapy Program. John obtained his PhD from Nova Southeastern University in 2005. Dr. Krauss is Board Certified in Orthopedics by the American Physical Therapy Association and Certified Manual Physical Therapist.
Dr. Krauss is the Coordinator of the Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Graduate Certification Program at Oakland University. Dr. Krauss has authored/coauthored numerous books, book chapters and peer review articles on manual treatment for a variety of orthopedic conditions. Dr. Krauss works at OMPT Specialists, Inc., in Southfield as Senior Manual Therapist.
Melodie Kondratek PT, DScPT, OMPT
Senior Physical Therapist
Certified in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, NDT – Adult Hemiplegia and is also a Therapeutic Touch Practitioner. She received her Doctorate of Science Degree in Physical Therapy in 2004 from Oakland University. Dr. Kondretek specializes in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy, Pediatrics and Integration of orthopedic and neurological interventions.
Melodie is a Credentialed Clinical Instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association. Melodie joined OMPT Specialists as Senior Physical Therapist in 2007 and comes with over 30 years hand on experience. Besides practicing at OMPT Specialists Inc., Dr. Kondratek is also an Assistant Professor at Oakland University as well as a adjunct faculty member at Wayne State University. Melodie participates in many research studies on a variety of conditions and treatment option with several local physicians. She has several publications on orthopedic topics for both the pediatric and adult population.
Michael Burd MPT, OMPT
Staff Manual Physical Therapist
Board Certified Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan with a Masters Degree from Wayne State University, 2001. Michael joined OMPT Specialists in the Spring of 2008 and brings over seven years of hands on experience in an outpatient treatment setting.
He received his Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy Certification from Oakland University in May of 2008. Besides practicing at OMPT Specialists, Michael is a part time faculty member at Wayne State University, teaching Therapeutic Exercise for the entry level program.
